Being Prepared…

It’s hard ( & expensive) to be prepared for everything.  It takes time, money…but most importantly- thought and planning.

I just had a dear friend pass away prematurely.  He was kind, smart and a better person would be hard to find- but,  I wonder when he left this existence, did he have things in order.  Was his wife left with a mess?  As this new year begins, maybe it’s a good time to consider the “what-ifs” in our lives.

Insurance can be an economical way to handle things, but is not the only answer.  Discuss things openly with your spouse and children.  They’ll have more ideas than you might think but most importantly, getting everybody to buy-off on the solution’s will save a lot of pain, stress and hurt on the back-end.  Planning for the what if’s in our life is probably the kindest thing we can do for our family.
